PhD Dissertation (2014)

The dissertation is divided into four parts: Part 1/4 (p. 1 – 48), Part 2/4 (p. 49 – 96), Part 3/4 (p. 97 – 144) and Part 4/4 (145 –192).

Though the dissertation follows a structure according to page numbers, I have found it meaningful to divide the dissertation into four parts and thereby making it possible to look at different parts of the dissertation simultaneously. Furthermore this format equals the different parts of the work in a way I have found representative.

Part 1/4 contains summaries of the dissertation in English and Danish, a foreword, an introduction to the research area, research questions, description of the context of research, as well as considerations about the methods used.

Part 2/4 contains a description of how the research was approached by the making of a landscape, and, in connection to the making of the landscape a variety of pictures, a diary, followed by a collection of other materials that was made and gathered.

Part 3/4 contains a description of how the making of a landscape was followed by the making of a garden, in connection to the making of the garden a variety of pictures follows, two diaries and a collection of other materials that was made and gathered.

Part 4/4 contains description of a public seminar made as part of the research, discussion of the landscape and the garden in relation to research questions and seminar, contribution, conclusion and perspective, and finally literature.

When there are references to additional material in the dissertation it is to found on the DVD supplementing the four printed parts.

Finally, notes are placed as endnotes in each part of the dissertation.
